Kawau Island- Recount

Walt: summarise a week long experience into a recount.


4 chaotic days filled with laughter.  Away from my family but still having fun. Scared to death, because we thought our cabin was haunted. Camp Bentzon was the bomb.


The yr6ś of Pt England School have been going to Camp Bentzon for as long as you can imagine. This year it was our turn. Sleeping in cabins with your friends, eating lollies and enjoying the wonderful activities, what a great 4 days.

Meeting in the hall the yr6s were excited, especially me. Group by group the teachers called the roll. It was time to board the bus. Waving to my mother, I was so sad. Thirty minutes into the bus ride I started to secretly eat with Yvonne. We arrived at Sandspit


As the ferry pulled into the Camp Bentzon wharf we started to sing our school haka. We sang as loud as we could, making sure the spirit lay at Camp Bentzon. As we were we singing our haka the people who run the camp (Peter and Erin) were waiting there for us. Once we finished our haka we had a round of applause. With excitement we all ran to the door wanting to get out first. Each one of us made a line and started to unpack the ferry. Once we were all done we set out for our hike.

The next day we started to do our rotations. My favorite activity was Abseiling. I was the first girl to go and the second out of all. Abseiling was the best. My next favorite activity was Sailing. My partner Rosalina nearly fell out because she kept on moving the Tiller fast. On the last day of camp we had sports rotations. We had bush baseball, volley ball, touch and swimming. I enjoyed baseball the most. Camp was awesome.

It was time to go home. We packed the ferry and started our journey back to Sandspit. Once we were at Sandspit we unpacked the ferry and put all of our bags into the bus. It was time to set off and go back home.

Overall I enjoyed camp. It was a amazing experience for me. I enjoyed every moment of Camp Bentzon. Falling out of my kayak, sitting on a white tail, Best Camp EVER. Camp memories are still in my mind. I wish I could go back.

Maths Problem Solving Wk3

Walt: find a fraction of a number
Task Description:learnt how to read a maths problem and then convert it into a math equation, I did this with my friend Revival, Yvonne and Rosalina. Two of us in a group did a card each. We had to Participate and work together to find out what the answer is. At the end of the day our results were good and we all agreed to the answer.

Watched the video. IT WAS DISGUSTING! Bugs, maggots, yuck stuff.

Then Mr G started talking about it, then he brang it out. Picked the contestants. Hosea, Rima, Inez and Christian.

They then ate it, and someone said it was disgusting. Looked like Inez was going to spew. We all knew it was fake. Most of them them found it really easy

What I think about the fear factor challenge

How disgusting. Today our teacher introduced the Fear Factor to us. Maggots, Bugs, Rat hair chips and blood. Our version was just as bad, Pond Scum water and frog eggs, ewwwww. Four contestants and only one winner, who will it be. Eat it as fast as you can, first one to swallow. Am I the only one who has a crazy teacher?

Reflection and Review of Production!

                                               Cindy In Da House!

Cindy In Da House reflection.
This year our school production was about Cinderella G.I styles. It played from Tuesday the 22nd to Thursday the 24th. Before the production we had a matinee.! A matinee is the production but held in the afternoon instead. The production was filled with a variety of things such as: Dancing, Singing, a lot of acting and some short films. As we were waiting the lights suddenly went out. All of the kids screamed. Everyone bought there ticket for $5, nobody wanted to miss out. It was held in our school hall. The timing was great, it ran from 7pm to 8:15pm. Once it was all over the production team decided to show our whole school on Friday. It was awesome. 


Cindy In Da House review. 
Our Cinderella story about a girl who meets a boy. Our Cindy wasn't treated that well. She got given a beautiful dress and ended up going to prefects ball. Our boy (Josh) is a very well treated boy. Goes to the gym everyday, head boy and rugby captain. They meet each other at the Prefects Ball and as the real story the clock ticks and she runs away leaving her JANDEL. Josh and his boys go looking around G.I for the Jandel, they eventually find the other pair. They have a wedding and become besties. I think our production was cool. I would rate it a 10/10

My Highlight!

My favorite thing this term was getting PTs and Pieces. It was cool because we were able to buy treats. I also enjoyed our school production, this years production was Cindy in da house. It is about Cinderella G.I styles. If you would like to see more of my blog posts over the holidays make sure you keep in touch. Verosa our egg friend!

Cracked, hurry get a plaster. Racing with a egg and a spoon is cray cray.
Racing down the park as if we were cars.

Yesterday our class got given a little something to take care of. That something can be eaten. Before we were given our little friend we had to get into pairs. Mr Goodwin then said” please take care of your little friends very well, you might drop it”. I thought what could it be. He then brang it out of his cupboard.  It was eggs. Each pair were given eggs and a marker to draw a face. Once we drew a face we named it. My partner and I named her Verosa Goodwin, which stands for Venetia and Rosalina. We got a few tissues for our friend.

After we drew the face and named it we went outside, put our shoes on and lined up. We then walked to the park. We were super nervous because we could of dropped our little friend, over the rocks, through the breeze and onto the hard court. That’s a pretty long journey for an egg.  Once we were at the park each pair got given a spoon. We had to pick who would stay at the beginning of the park and who would go to the end. Those were our 1st and 2nds. My partner Rosalina decided that she'll go first. I had to wait a the other end of the park.

My partner got to the end of the park, it was now my turn. Rosalina handed me the spoon and egg. I was so anxious. I started to go through the park. I screamed the whole way. When I was on my way to the other side I saw my friend Talita. She cracked her egg. It was awesome fun. When we were finished we headed back to class. Since my friends egg was a little cracked someone got her a plaster.

I thought the egg race was awesome. I think we should have another one. Racing with just a spoon and an egg. I think Verosa had a great time with me and Rosalina.
